Gateway High School

The Principal Advisory for Student Affairs (PASA) is a dedicated leadership group that serves as the voice of the student body at Gateway High School. PASA works collaboratively with staff to identify challenges on campus, develop effective solutions, and contribute to creating a better school environment. They also represent Gateway in district advisory groups when needed, ensuring students have a say in shaping their educational experience.

Student enrichment activities are an essential part of the Gateway High School experience, offering students a chance to engage in a variety of co-curricular events throughout the year. These activities include athletic competitions such as soccer, flag football, mushball, volleyball, cross country, and basketball, among others. Eligible Gateway students proudly represent their school, competing against other Alternative Education High Schools in the area, fostering teamwork, sportsmanship, and school spirit.

Multicultural Art invites students to explore diverse cultures and traditions by examining artwork and various forms of creative expression used throughout history to connect the past with the present.

In this course, students will develop essential culinary and nutrition skills for personal living while gaining a deeper understanding and appreciation of the food industry as a whole. With a focus on hands-on learning, students will engage in practical cooking experiences that foster creativity and skill-building. Attendance, active participation, and adherence to safety guidelines and classroom procedures are key ingredients for success in this dynamic and interactive class!

Throughout this course, students will harness critical thinking and interpersonal skills to create and produce video-based projects, along with other media forms, for distribution to relevant media outlets. These projects will align with and support school-wide goals and initiatives, offering students a chance to make a meaningful impact. By the end of the course, students will gain a valuable introduction to the dynamic and rewarding world of video production and self-expression. This experience will equip them with lifelong skills, empowering them to contribute as creative, skilled, and engaged members of their community.
