Introduction to Business. In this class, students will be introduced to
the world of business. Whether the
student wishes to start their own business or seek a career in today’s
competitive job marketing, this course will allow students to gain the
knowledge to be ready to face the working world. During the school year students will learn
about various career options, business vocabulary, personal finance, checking/banking
skills, developing a good credit score, stocks, investments, business models,
correct business attire, verbal/written skills, resumes and interview
techniques.
Marketing/Management.
If the student wishes to enroll in the two-period business class then
these students will take charge of the Student-Run Store Student and deal with
market research, marketing mix, sales, promotion/advertising, developing
policies, organizational skills, inventory control, pricing, bookkeeping, customer
service, and ‘job shadowing’ at outside businesses.
Work Experience.
If a student is already employed, they may enter the Work Experience
Program. This allows the student to earn
credit for skills learned ‘on the job’ while working at their place of
business. (See your counselor for more
information).
